Post-Stroke Rehabilitation: Journey from Hospital to Home

Stroke is the leading cause of disability in Vietnam. However, with early and proper rehabilitation, many patients can regain self-care abilities.

Golden Recovery Period

The first 3-6 months after stroke is the "golden period" when the brain has the highest neuroplasticity. Start rehabilitation as early as possible, usually 24-48 hours after stabilization.

Rehabilitation Areas

• Physical therapy: Limb movement, walking, balance training.


• Occupational therapy: Eating, bathing, dressing – daily living activities.


• Speech therapy: Speech and safe swallowing training.
